How much are we all looking forward to Easter this
year? The slim chance of being able to meet up with
family – even just to exchange eggs or chocolatey
treats – is dangling there like a carrot for the Easter
bunny, and the feelings of new beginnings, hope and
fresh starts the traditional celebration brings are a
tonic after the past few months. Whatever the current

situation, Easter presents us with the opportunity to take time to cook
and bake special dishes using the season's best ingredients. I feel
particularly inspired by the menu on page 50 by the pair of chefs who
own and run Orwells restaurant. Their ideas have a lightness to them
that sums up this new food mood perfectly.
Spring also gives us the opportunity to get out in the garden and,
as our feature 'Why Gardening Is Good For You' on page 114 explains,
this gives us more than just exercise - it improves our emotional
wellbeing, too. If you don't have a garden, try planting some seedlings
on a sunny windowsill and take joy in watching them grow.
There are some juicy reads to get stuck into as well. From the inspiring
story of Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, aka The Black Farmer, to the healthy-
