A delicious way To
start your day
Eggs are one of the most versatile foods and are
packed full of proteins and healthy fats with zero
sugar so they are a brilliant food for all the family.
Getting your kids involved in the kitchen is also a
great way to encourage them to eat new things if
they've been involved in cooking it, they're much
more likely to eat it! My kids have always loved
helping out in the kitchen and they learned how
to crack an egg at a very young age. During the
lockdown, I also got them involved in helping
make lunches and coming up with new lunchtime
ideas. My girls love making frittatas for lunch - it's
similar to an omelette but milk is the key ingredient
and forms like a custard. We always pack it full of
veggies and sometimes meat.
Poached Eggs
They have so much fun
dipping Toast fingers
Dippy Eggs
Dippy egg or poached egg is super easy and can
be served with toast fingers for dipping. When my
girls were small, they especially loved these as they
got a kick out of dipping their toast into the egg.
Remember, only offer undercooked eggs to children
over one year of age. Pancakes are always a big hit
in our house and my kids love making them; and
Banana Pancakes have just two ingredients: eggs
and bananas - they couldn't be easier! Simply whisk
two eggs and add in mashed banana. Fry on your
pan for about 2 minutes on each side. They are a
great healthy alternative breakfast recipe and can
easily be stored in your child's food flask for a mid-
morning snack for school. It's great to try out new
versions from time to time - sweet and savoury - so
make sure to mix up the toppings.

There are so many ways to serve eggs so why not
get your children involved in the process and
co-create some tasty new egg recipes that they
can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
